Grades:

The next grade for both Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band will be a test over the student's entire solo the week of 2/13/2012

During the spring semester the percussionists will have different responsibilities depending upon which band they are in.  All students must also keep a binder in which they store materials.

The Wind Ensemble and Symphonic band  percussion section  will be tested on fundamentals (keyboard) as follows:

March-Green Studies,UIL Music,ensemble music

April-,UIL Music,ensemble music ,4 mallet technique

The concert band percussion section will be graded on the same fundamentals as the wind section and their sectional will be held (and graded) outside of class.

Sectionals for these groups (once UIL music is selected) will  occur after school on M, Tu, and Wed. after school in the band hall once the UIL music is selected.

Percussion Must Haves:

The students are required to have whatever sticks and mallets are needed to play their solo as well as the items listed in the "percussion must haves" in the sidebar.  Starting in the fall of 2012, the McNeil percussion program will require a different and larger selection of mallets.  This information will be released in the coming months.
