Garrett is a percussion educator and performer originally from San Antonio, Texas. His performance experience spans some of the most respected organizations in the marching arts, including two seasons with Cap City Percussion (2021–2022), three seasons with The Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps (2021–2023), and three seasons with Rhythm X (2023–2025).

Throughout his marching career, Garrett established himself as an exceptional leader. He served as section leader for The Cavaliers in 2023 and for Rhythm X in both 2024 and 2025. Under his leadership, Rhythm X earned two WGI World Championship silver medals, while The Cavaliers captured the Fred Sanford Award for Outstanding Percussion Performance in 2023. That same season, Garrett was also recognized as the recipient of the prestigious “Cavalier of the Year” award for his outstanding leadership and dedication to the organization.

As an educator, Garrett has shared his experience with students at Claudia Taylor Johnson High School, Lebanon High School, the Forest Hills School District, River City Rhythm Drum and Bugle Corps, and Rhythmic Force Percussion.

Garrett joins the McNeil Percussion staff for his first season in 2026, bringing a wealth of performance experience, proven leadership, and a passion for developing young musicians.
