Hello Mav Band and Guard Family!

Happy New Year and welcome back! 

Congratulations to Suhaan Khan and Jeremy Moon for advancing to All-State! Suhaan was 1st chair in the Eb clarinet room and Jeremy was 1st chair Bb clarinet at the Area auditions in Duncanville yesterday. They will attend the TMEA All-State convention next month in San Antonio.

Please look at the attached document for what is coming up in the next two weeks. Guard rehearsals continue, and full orchestra and sectionals begin for the Wind Ensemble and Wind Symphony. Percussion ensemble rehearsals will begin soon too. Symphonic Band rehearsals will occur after school in a few weeks.

IMPORTANT: Times listed are START times, not arrival times. Students should arrive 10-15 minutes early to be on time.

WE - Wind Ensemble

WS - Wind Symphony

SB - Symphonic Band

JO - Jazz Orchestra

There is also the Guard, Symphony Orchestra, and Philharmonic Orchestra.

NEW EVENT: MS Side by Side

The 8th-grade band students from our middle school feeders will join the Wind Ensemble in preparing a short concert THIS WEDNESDAY after school. All students will receive pizza and the concert is at 7:15 pm in the cafeteria. 

REGION BAND

Students who made the Region Band must attend the Clinic and Concert next weekend and we encourage everyone to attend the Region Band Concert at 5:00 next Saturday at Pflugerville HS. 

Students who made the Concert Band will receive their music this week as it has been on backorder. 

Students who made the District Band should leave the weekend open in case they get a call to fill a spot in the Concert Band. You'll want to do this because Dr. Croomes is the clinician!
